We strat this route in “Latuvi” located at 1900 meters above sea level and part of the 8 villages known as “Pueblos Mancomunados” in the northern mountains of Oaxaca.
Most of the time we will be hiking on a prehispanic trail that was used by our ancestors who wanted to go from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific. The first part of the route is done on a wide dirt route until we reach a little river called “Cara de Leon”, from here we will be hiking on narrow trails where it would be possible to see many birds such as the “trogon” (a bird similar to the Quetzal) known by the locals as the national bird cause its green, red and white colors. After we’ve hiked for a while by the river, we will need to go uphill to “Lachatao” a place form where we will have a wonderful panoramic view of the landscape and some other little villages. The route has many spots full of wonderful vegetation. We will end in “Lachatao” or “Amatlan” where a little restaurant is located
