Description

Day 1:

(30km) We go by van from Oaxaca City to Cuajimoloyas, a little village in the northern Mountains of Oaxaca located 3,100 meters asl, this takes about 1.30 hrs. We usually start the ride in this place, taking a wide dirt route and riding through the forest for 5Km to reach a nice single track section that we know as “Cucharilla” where we will be riding downhill to a little river called “Cara de León”. From here we will continue ridding by the river on a trail that was used by our ancestors who wanted to cross from the Gulf of México to the Pacific. There will be some highly technical single track sections where the more experienced riders won’t struggle, some will have to walk but the vegetation is worth it. Before we arrive to the village called “Lachatao” we’ll have to go up hill and in some parts it’s necessary to walk. Once we’re in Lachatao we suggest you to visit its church, before we go to Amatlán, place where we finish the ride. Here we eat and sleep in cabins with a wonderful view of the landscape.

Day 2:

(22 km.) at 8:00 am. We’ll have breakfast in Amatlan’s community restaurant and then we’ll drive to “Llano Grande” where we’ll have a great time ridding within its wonderful landscapes. This day we will enjoy watch points, single tracks, vegetation and if it’s the raining season we can see some waterfalls. The average altitude of the days is 2,800 meters asl. And the highest point is at 3,300 meters asl.The ride usually takes 5 hrs including the stops; if we don’t stop it takes 2:30 hrs.

Day 3:

(32 km.) at 8:00 am we ride to “Benito Juárez” have breakfast in its community restaurant, then after breakfast, we start riding through wide dirt roads going up and down for about 7 kilometers, to finally ride a long, funny single track which goes mostly downhill, the longest of the tour to Oaxaca City where we finish this tour.
